Wish List

While I was in Peace Corps Uganda, I had a wish list in case people were interested in sending me items out of the kindness of their heart.  I was always so excited and flattered to receive such wonderful gifts.  And so, I thought I'd try the same thing on this blog.  Even if I don't receive any of these, it's still a fun way to make a list of my favorite teacher things!  (Much like Oprah's "Favorite Things" list she would always do).

1)  Stress balls

I have a lot of students who like to fidget, and when they do this, they usually tap their pencil against their desk--which drives me NUTS!  I ask them politely to instead play with a stress ball so that I don't have 26 drummers on different beats tapping against their desks.  My favorite kind of stress balls:

2) Squishables

I want these so badly for my students when they want to flop on the floor and read.  They're so squishy and adorable!  Find them at the Squishables.

3)Exercise balls

I sat on an exercise ball for the entirety of the spring half of the school year last year; it was great.  I could tip and move without ruining a chair or threatening to fall over.   Kids also like to wiggle and bounce while they think, and I wish I had more for them to sit on.
4)Books

All kinds of books.  Middle school high-interest books.  Books with lots of amazing pictures (like National Geographic coffee-table books).  Books about vampire love stories, or teenagers saving the universe.  Books about haunted hospitals or middle school drama or an animal's diary in the zoo...

Books.  'Nuff said

Want to donate something?
You will receive: a permanent thank-you placard in my classroom, a shout-out on my blog, and a heartfelt, hand-written thank-you letter from one of my students

Where do I send it?

Because this is an ANONYMOUS TEACHER blog (but all of my facebook friends know who I am) I'm putting an alternative address to send any donations.  Thank you for your consideration!
